Normally, companies have a large and complex map of IT solutions on various platforms from various suppliers, and partners who support the company’s need for interaction with clients, employees and other stakeholders. The complexity is often illustrated in great plans showing a spaghetti-like tangle of connections. But making a chart of the complexity is not the same as reducing this complexity.

This is where a living process for Enterprise Architecture (EA) can have impact: creating a powerful long-term foundation for business driven IT development. Better integration and standardisation of business processes is the key to success. But the journey there demands both planning and a methodical execution.
